Engin Ayaz is a interdisciplinary designer with background in engineering, architecture, sustainability and interaction design. He is a recent graduate from NYU Tisch ITP, where he focused on creating public installations, interactive data visualization pieces and co-creation spaces.
Currently, he is working on establishing a creative community space and a design incubator in Istanbul, entitled ATÖLYE. He is also a part-time instructor in Bilgi University Architecture department, teaching a 4th year elective studio course entitled Transdisciplinary Urban Interventions (TDUI).
Engin has worked on spatial media projects with potion design and as a design researcher and sustainability consultant for building and planning projects at Arup. Prior to that, Engin received a BS degree in Structural Engineering and Architectural Design from Stanford University.
Engin's work has been published in Architizer, Creators Project, Infosthetics, ArchDaily, XXI, GOOD Magazine, Atlantic Cities, Datavisualization.ch, Notcot and Make Magazine, among others. He exhibited at various NYU ITP shows, Grey Area Arts Foundation, 319 Scholes Gallery and Dumbo Arts Festival; and presented his work at conferences in Tokyo, San Francisco, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Istanbul. Engin also has assisted courses at Stanford University, California College of Arts and Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and received project fellowships from US Environmental Protection Agency and Merage Foundation.
